Media formats

Our web site makes extensive use of audio and video in both QuickTime and Real formats.

Our RealAudio and Video clips are currently encoded at multiple bit rates using Real's SureStream technology, which monitors the speed of your internet connection and adjusts delivery quality accordingly. QuickTime versions are also encoded at a variety of bit rates: be sure to specify your connection speed in the QuickTime preference pane or control panel. (You may wish to choose a lower connection speed than your actual connection allows – for example, if you would like to trade some audio quality in return for freeing up some bandwidth to continue surfing the web while you listen.)

If you experience difficulties connecting to any of our QuickTime material and you are behind a firewall (for example, if you are viewing on a corporate LAN or have a home router or wireless network setup), check Apple's website for advice.
